Milestone for May! Her first steps! (VIDEO)
There are moments to cherish. And, then there are moments that shape the current of your life. This is one of those for me.
May NEVER used a walking frame before today. This is her, one minute in.
I love May. Her world expanded today. Now, it includes a step, three steps – perhaps even a stroll – beyond herself. It’s within her reach. One bounce at a time.
*The walking frame we used is called a Kid Walk by Leckey. More to come in a future post…

How amazing and wonderful! Good work, May!
WOW! What an amazing accomplishment. Thank you for allowing us to share in your joy. I can't wait to show this to her second cousins. I don't know what I loved most, seeing her walk, seeing her bounce and smile, or hearing your laugh.
Love, Jen and Andy
That was wonderful!
Now, please take that sign off May's chair and attach it instead to the walking frame. Brilliant! Wonderful, excellent. :)
Hahaha! Great idea!
YAY May. She sure got the hang of it fast. And I love your laughs and expressions of live behind the showing. This is such a great accomplishment. She is getting around on her own. I am thrilled beyond thrilled for everyone.
Dad & I are so thrilled! We watched the video together today! What an accomplishment! What JOY!
That is brilliant Stacie! What an amazing moment.
Mazal tov! May she go from strength to strength! I love how she looks so astonished and delighted.
How exciting! May is more beautiful than ever and now with the extra added feature of mobility!
Your girl IS amazing!! Go May! :)
Whoot! Congratulations May! Here's to ever expanding worlds.
Laurence (your Leckey product advisor - the man behind May in the video) sent me this link and I have tears in my eyes watching May. I'm going to send it round the whole Leckey company. We love hearing stories about the children who use our products. This is a really lovely start to our day. Thank you ever so much. You have made my day. Congratulations and love to May from all at Leckey on a rainy morning in N Ireland.
love it love it and more love it... way to go!!
So amazing! This brought happy tears to my eyes! Isn't the possible future so different from how you may have imagined it when May was born? Congratulations to you as parents as this is as a result of your efforts and dedication and congratulations to May for just being amazing.
Amazing! Hip, hip hooray for May! This is a moment you will never, ever forget.
Couldn't love this more. Totally aMAYzing!
aMAYzing! hehehe
:)
Hi Stacie
I've never stopped watching May from the moment you first started to share your lives with us. She just gets more amazing at every achievement. You should be really proud, not least of yourselves ! What a beautiful girl who is proving that anything's possible.
As a Mummy of a 4 year old, Max, I know how important these milestones are, not least because they make our children so happy.
x
You hit on the best bit, Elis - May loved it!
That has made my day! Well done May, how absolutely fabulous to see her up on her feet like that - and such great stepping so soon! This is going to change her world :-D You must have the biggest smile on your face tonight.
I'm really excited about the Kidwalk - we saw it at Kidz South and Dyl had a little go in it. We're getting one on loan for a two week trial run in August and I'm hoping it will make a big difference. Fingers crossed if it does we can get hold of one permanently. Will be watching to see how you all get on with it so please do update xx
How absolutely wonderful. x
i LOVE this video so much. my mom sent me the link because she and i both follow your blog. but i've come back several times to watch it again. little May has come so far!!!
And soon you will be able to say "May and I are going for a walk in the park" or to the corner shop (if they still exist!)or just down the street. How good will that feel?
PS Does the frame have brakes?
I'm not sure yet about the brakes - but I can control it using a lever from behind. My sister and I are already talking about the walks we will take when I back in the States in a few weeks!
I don't think anyone else mentioned it here but I LOVE May's hair (cut?). LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Congratulations, May, on your 1st steps! ::Big hugs:: I also love that you can bounce in it :-D
